Strauss-Kahn’s plot thickens with the identical charges of Mahmoud Abdel-Salam Omar

The 74 year old Mahmoud Abdel-Salam Omar, a wealthy businessman and former chairman of Egypt's Bank of Alexandria, was arrested on May 31 under sexual assault charges involving a New York hotel maid. The charges and circumstances are practically identical to the 62 year old Dominique Strauss-Kahn alleged offences. DSK was arrested in New York on May 14 for sexually assaulting a New York Hotel maid, leading to his resignation from the head of the International Monetary Fund and ending his chances to become France’s president next year against Nicolas Sarkozy.

It must be said that Strauss-Kahn’s latest speeches probably did not sit well with Wall Street’s bankers: “Human Development and Wealth Distribution”. Especially when the IMF is or was in the process of replacing the American dollar as the international currency with IMF's Special Drawing Rights, as indicated in The Telegraph on February 10: “International Monetary Fund director Dominique Strauss-Kahn calls for new world currency”.

It is unclear if this epidemic of older financial and wealthy men accused of raping African housemaids in New York Hotels is a plot or simply a coincidence, or even a clear message to international bankers to follow a certain globalisation path, or else they will find themselves in prison. However conspiracy theory websites are having a field day, as this is a new twist in the supposed plot against Strauss-Kahn. As Time reports, the conspiracy in the case of DSK has taken a life of its own: “French Conspiracy Theorists Go into Overdrive over Strauss-Kahn's Sex Charges”. For a more in-depth article read Thierry Meyssan on Voltaire Network: “Obama, financial war and the elimination of DSK”.

The French believe at 57% that Dominique Strauss Kahn is the victim of a plot, as indicated in this review of the French press: “IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s charges: the French believe it’s a plot”. The French mass media does not appear to have made the link with the case of Mahmoud Abdel-Salam Omar yet, the news has been given a low profile.

What has been given more visibility in France is what the Daily Mail reports in an article dated May 20: “Strauss-Kahn believes he was victim of Russian plot to have him sacked as head of IMF, French politician reveals”. It comes amid another report from the Daily Mail dated 31 May: “Vladimir Putin claims Dominique Strauss-Kahn is the victim of a conspiracy to force him out”. In that same vein this article rated as propaganda and disinformation by many has been circulating the net: “Russia Says IMF Chief Jailed For Discovering All US Gold Is Gone”.

As a commentator stated on a forum, maybe it is a case of: “Two bankers down thousands to go. Bring on the maids. They're doing a better job than the SEC and the Justice Department”. It is unclear yet what is the story of Mahmoud Abdel-Salam Omar and why he would be the victim of a plot, there is little information available on the net. However the ones who appear to be framed are not exactly the ones the public would wish to see going down. One fact does seem disturbing, the escalation of rape charges befalling influential international figures straying away from the mainstream American capitalist philosophy is becoming a pandemic. Julian Assange of the WikiLeaks fame comes to mind.
